  1. Early in-person voting

    Thursday, October 15 to Saturday, October 31, 2026

    Vote at any early voting site in your county. Sites and hours vary by county, and the last day ends at 3 p.m.

  2. Absentee ballot request deadline

    Tuesday, October 20, 2026, by 5 p.m.

    Your county board of elections must receive your request by 5 p.m., two weeks before Election Day. You can request online at the NC Absentee Ballot Portal or with a paper form.

  3. Election Day poll hours

    Tuesday, November 3, 2026, 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

    Vote at your assigned polling place. If you are in line there by 7:30 p.m., you can vote.

  4. Absentee ballot return deadline

    Tuesday, November 3, 2026, by 7:30 p.m.

    Your county board of elections must receive it by 7:30 p.m. There is no postmark grace period. You can drop it off at your county board office or an early voting site in your county, but not at a polling place on Election Day.
